70-410 Objective 3.3 – Creating and Configuring Virtual Networks on Hyper-V 2012 R2 Part 2

In this video we will be investigating Objective 3.3 Creating and Configuring Virtual Networks on Hyper-V. This video covers part two of the lecture notes for the Objective. We first examine the differences between Legacy Network Adapters and Synthetic Network Adapters. We also look in depth at how Synthetic NICs work compared to Legacy NICs, as well as the requirements for Synthetic NICs. We then look at the Hardware Acceleration Settings for Synthetic Adapters; covering Virtual Machine Queue, IPSec Task Offloading and Single-Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV). We then examine Advanced Network Adapter Feature such as Static MAC Address assignment, MAC Address Spoofing, DHCP Guard and Router Guard, Port Mirroring Mode and NIC Teaming. Lastly we explore NIC Teaming inside of a Virtual Machine and it limitation compared to a physical host.
